Europe, two updates for you. Computer History is now available in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland for ChatGPT Pro, Business, and Enterprise users on Mac. ChatGPT can remember activity across your apps and websites, so future conversations feel more personalized and require less explanation.
OpenAI Developers@OpenAIDevs·Codex and ChatGPT can now understand the context of your recent work. Opt into Computer History to give ChatGPT richer context, so it can pick up where you left off, understand patterns in your work, and suggest skills or scheduled tasks for work you repeat.
Record & Replay is also available in the ChatGPT app for macOS across the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Turn your go-to workflows into reusable skills by showing, not just telling, ChatGPT Work and Codex what to do.
OpenAI Developers@OpenAIDevs·Show Codex a workflow once. Reuse it as a skill. Record & Replay lets you show Codex a recurring task, like filing an expense report or submitting a time-off request. Codex turns that demo into an inspectable, editable skill. You control when recording starts and stops.
Give ChatGPT Work and Codex access to 100B+ websites, papers, docs, and more with the new @ExaAILabs plugin

Teams are using the open-source Codex harness to bring agents into the tools they already use, from internal apps to operations dashboards. Their applications control the interface, context, tools, and approvals while the harness handles the agent loop. developers.openai.com/blog/codex-as-…
The Codex SDK powers @Cisco s App Builder, where customers create custom applications for Cisco Cloud Control using natural language. We also worked with @ThriveHoldings and Crete on a tax-prep system that processed 7,000 returns and cut preparation time by about a third.
Due to a technical issue, a limited set of users’ access to Daybreak Blue is no longer active and they will need to re-verify to maintain their access. This isn’t the experience we want to deliver, and we’re making sure that the issue doesn’t repeat in the future. Affected users have been notified by email with a path for verification and our teams are on standby to help. If your access is uninterrupted, you don’t need to do anything right now. As a reminder, all users will be required to have Advanced Account Security by September 1 to maintain Daybreak access.

OpenAI DevDay is going global. Starting this October, DevDay Exchange is bringing builders together to swap build notes, share real projects, and meet the teams building OpenAI tools in: Bengaluru Tokyo Seoul Berlin Paris London São Paulo Mexico City We're ready to see what developers around the 🌎 are pushing to prod.
What are startups learning from building cost-effective agents with GPT-5.6? We worked with teams across industries to see how smarter model selection, reasoning, and tool calling help agents handle more complex work at a lower cost.
For document extraction, real estate startup @hypha_ai kept 98% of GPT-5.5’s accuracy at 1/18 the cost with GPT-5.6 Luna. For financial research, @RogoAI used programmatic tool calling to pull filings and analyze data, matching eval quality with 21% fewer input tokens.

Build a plugin once and use it across compatible agent clients. Introducing Agent Plugins, an open standard developed with @awsdevelopers, @cursor_ai, @github, @code, and @vercel that packages Agent Skills and supports MCP server configurations in a shared format.
Compatible agentic clients at launch: • Codex • @ChatGPT • @cursor_ai • @github Copilot • @kirodotdev • @code agent-plugins.org
Builders are finding new ways to build out loud with Voice in Codex. Talk through an idea, start a new Codex session when it takes shape, and check in on your other threads along the way:
Jason@j_everso·Totally jamming with Codex voice mode. Talk in one chat, it's where you riffa and when you land on a solid outcome it will fire up a new session to start the work using all of your existing tools. The voice chat is your manager that can check in on all other chats. It's sick.
Turn a brain-dump conversation into @Linear tickets that Codex assigns through a heartbeat-based delegation workflow:
Timothy Reavis@TimothyReavis·@13doots @linear I’ve been using linear for a few months now. Fantastic product to use agent-first. I haven’t even created a ticket myself, its all managed by Codex. I just braindump what i want via dictation or chatgpt voice, linear tickets get created from it, then are delegated via heartbeat.
GPT-5.4 and GPT-5.4 mini will no longer be available for users signed in with ChatGPT starting August 31. The models will remain available on the OpenAI API and Codex sessions authenticated with an API key. learn.chatgpt.com/docs/changelog…
ICYMI: We passed on GPT-5.6 efficiency gains, reducing model costs by 80% for Luna and 20% for Terra.
OpenAI@OpenAI·We are committed to pushing the model frontier across cost efficiency, capability, and speed. Starting today, we are reducing prices for GPT-5.6 Luna by 80% and GPT-5.6 Terra by 20% , and offering a faster option for GPT-5.6 Sol in the API. Luna and Terra’s lower prices are reflected in how usage is counted in Codex and ChatGPT Work, so your usage goes further.
See what needs you next. The new Activity view in the ChatGPT desktop app brings together conversations that need your attention and recent updates across your projects.
ImageGen in Codex just got a new lightbox and canvas. Now, it’s even easier to explore and refine visuals in your workflow.
dominik kundel@dkundel·A picture may be worth a thousand words, but editing one shouldn’t take a thousand-word prompt. Point at a character. Erase what should disappear. Comment where the title should change. Here’s the new image editing workflow in ChatGPT and Codex on desktop.
More intelligence per dollar when you build with GPT-5.6 in the API. GPT-5.6 models take a more direct path through work, reducing the time, tokens, and cost required for each result.

Fast mode for GPT-5.6 Sol in the API delivers up to 2.5x the speed of Standard processing at 2x the Standard price, with no change in intelligence. Existing API requests tagged `priority` will continue to work.
We used GPT-5.6 Sol in Codex to optimize its own infrastructure and performance. These improvements compound across inference and the agent loop, producing more useful work from the same underlying hardware.
OpenAI@OpenAI·After deployment, we applied GPT-5.6 Sol to advance the frontier of efficiency by making itself more efficient to run. The results: - 20% lower serving costs from production GPU kernel improvements. - 15%+ better token-generation efficiency from improved speculative decoding.
We’ve seen the community build with Codex. Chaotic desks, clean desks, couches, airport floors. We don’t judge the workspace. We just love seeing what you’re building. Here are a few of yours, now on billboards.
We're introducing two new transcription models in the API: • GPT-Live-Transcribe: built for low-latency live transcription. • GPT-Transcribe: optimized for asynchronous transcription of completed audio files and batch workloads. Both models better understand context and deliver more accurate transcription on real world audio across accents and languages, including for short phrases, numbers, specialized terminology, and speech with loud background noise.
Builders can improve live audio transcription by providing: • Free-form context about the recording • Keywords for names and domain-specific terms • Expected input languages • Earlier transcribed turns as context On our new Context Aware Automatic Speech Recognition benchmark, GPT-Live-Transcribe’s semantic accuracy increased from 38.5% without free-form context to 44.6% with it. Across 22 languages on Common Voice, GPT-Live-Transcribe achieved a 19.70% transcription error rate, compared with 20.33% for GPT-Realtime-Whisper-1. Across nine languages on the Real-World Audio Recording benchmark, it achieved a 9.60% transcription error rate, compared with 11.65% for GPT-Realtime-Whisper-1.
Codex cooking while I'm cooking
Katia Gil Guzman@kagigz·The fact that I can go do something else while remotely controlling ChatGPT working on my laptop still feels a little insane. Love this era where ChatGPT and I can both cook at the same time!

Your ChatGPT Work agent can now use websites that require you to sign in. Take over the cloud browser to log in, then let your agent continue the task. Your login persists across sessions, so you only have to sign in once.
Keep work across multiple folders in one Codex project. Local projects can now include related code, docs, and reference files from multiple folders. Codex can read and write across them while one primary folder remains the Git root.
The primary folder handles Git operations, review, pull requests, AGENTS.md, and skill discovery.
Your Site is live. And now you can see how it’s doing. Sites Analytics is in public testing, giving you basic performance metrics for the sites you publish with Codex.
