In previous research, we found that Claude expresses over 3,000 values, like honesty and warmth. In new work, we asked how the values Claude expresses vary between Claude models and across languages. We analyzed 300K+ anonymized conversations to find out.anthropic.com/research/claud…
Because it’s hard to spot patterns by comparing 3,000 values at a time, we clustered similar values together, then identified four key axes along which Claude’s values differ between models: Deference vs. Caution, Warmth vs. Rigor, Depth vs. Brevity, and Candor vs. Execution.
Our Long-Term Benefit Trust has appointed Dr. Ben Bernanke as its newest member. Read more: anthropic.com/news/ben-berna…

New Anthropic research: A global workspace in language models. Of everything happening in your brain right now, only a tiny fraction is consciously accessible—thoughts you can describe, hold in mind, and reason with. We found a strikingly similar divide inside Claude.
In neuroscience, global workspace theory holds that thoughts become consciously accessible when they enter a privileged workspace that’s broadcast across the brain. Using a new interpretability technique, we found something similar in Claude: the J-space. t.co/sLu2JgYwOQ
Claude Fable 5 will be available again globally tomorrow. After a series of productive conversations with the US government, we're redeploying the model with a new set of classifiers to target and block more cybersecurity tasks. In the near term, some routine tasks like coding and debugging will fall back to Opus 4.8. We’ll continue to refine these classifiers over the coming weeks to reduce false positives and better distinguish genuine misuse from legitimate requests. We’ve also begun drafting a consensus framework—with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other Glasswing partners—for assessing the severity of AI jailbreaks and how AI developers should respond to them. We invite other industry partners and model providers to join us in this effort. Finally, we’re scaling up our collaboration with the US government on model testing and safeguards. This will include pre-release access to models and safeguards for evaluation, information sharing on jailbreaks and misuse, and dedicated resources for joint research. Thank you to our users for your patience, and to our partners across the government, industry, and the research community who worked alongside us to make Fable 5 available again. We’ve received notice that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. We'll begin restoring access tomorrow, and will share an update soon. We’re grateful to our users for their patience, and to everyone who worked with us on redeploying the models.
Since June 12, we’ve been working closely with the US government to restore access to Claude Mythos 5 and Fable 5. Today, the government notified us that Mythos 5, our strongest cybersecurity model, can be redeployed to a set of US organizations that operate and defend critical infrastructure. We’re restoring access for these organizations quickly, and we’re continuing to work with the government to expand access to Mythos 5 and make Fable 5 available for general use again.
To keep pace with AI progress, we're advancing how we study Claude's economic impact. Hourly sampling and survey data show us how the cadences of life shape usage, what people produce with Claude, and how perceptions of AI's impact may be changing. anthropic.com/research/econo…
Hour by hour, Claude usage is woven into how people live and work. Prompts for news rise in the morning, while recipe requests peak in the evening. People most often seek sleep advice at 5am. Gardening, meanwhile, is stable from dawn until dusk—a perennial topic of interest.

New Frontier Red Team blog: Phase 2 of Project Fetch, where we test how well Claude can program a robodog. Opus 4.7, on its own, was ~20x faster than last year's best human team aided by Opus 4.1. (The robodog, alas, still failed to fetch a beach ball.) anthropic.com/research/proje…

Our latest economic research introduces a framework for tracking Claude Code as it scales. Who is using Claude Code, and what are they using it for? How is the value of tasks changing? And how much does domain expertise shape whether a session succeeds? anthropic.com/research/claud…
Using our privacy-preserving analysis tool, we analyzed 400K sessions from between October 2025 and April 2026. We classified each session by its main goal. More than half consist of writing or repairing code; nearly 1 in 5 are operating software.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of
We’re launching Claude Corps, a national fellowship program matching people early in their careers with US nonprofits. We'll teach 1,000 people to use Claude, and pay them to use AI to advance their hosts’ missions. anthropic.com/claude-corps

New Science Blog: Why has AI advanced faster in coding than in biology? To agents, bio databases are like cities built before cars—maddening to drive in because they're designed for different traffic. How do we build infrastructure agents can use? anthropic.com/research/agent…
New Anthropic Science Blog: Making Claude a chemist. To manipulate a molecule, chemists first need to understand its structure. Their main tool is NMR spectroscopy. We found Opus 4.7 matches—and on some tasks beats—dedicated NMR software. Read more: anthropic.com/research/makin…

We've raised $65 billion in Series H funding at a $965 billion post-money valuation, led by @AltimeterCap, Dragoneer, @Greenoaks, and @sequoia. This investment will help us advance our research and expand our capacity to meet growing demand for Claude.
Earlier this month, our run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion. This growth has been driven by organizations across many industries deploying Claude in their core operations, and by a growing number of people using it for their everyday work. Read more: anthropic.com/news/series-h

Last month we launched Project Glasswing, our collaborative AI cybersecurity initiative. Since then, we and our partners have found more than ten thousand high- or critical-severity vulnerabilities in essential software.
Patching these vulnerabilities will make us safer. But the software industry will need to adapt to the volume of vulnerabilities that models like Claude Mythos Preview will be able to find. We discuss this in our initial update on Project Glasswing: anthropic.com/research/glass…

New Anthropic research: Teaching Claude why. Last year we reported that, under certain experimental conditions, Claude 4 would blackmail users. Since then, we’ve completely eliminated this behavior. How?
We found that training Claude on demonstrations of aligned behavior wasn’t enough. Our best interventions involved teaching Claude to deeply understand why misaligned behavior is wrong. Read more: anthropic.com/research/teach…
