The Cuban Communist regime is a state sponsor of terrorism that spies on America, arms violent left-wing radicals, spreads poisonous Marxist ideology, and serves as a staging ground for Russia, China & Iran just 90 miles from our shores. Today I sanctioned five Cuban entities and eight individuals associated with procuring arms for the regime. As President Trump has said: the United States will not tolerate a rogue state harboring hostile military, intelligence & terror operations on our doorstep. In my meeting with UK Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband, we discussed the need for Europe to take a greater role in its own security. We also reaffirmed our shared commitment to open transit in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.
The United States is hunting down, dismantling, and destroying Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación. @StateDept is offering rewards totaling over $100 million for information leading to the arrests and/or convictions of their leaders and associates. We are also imposing visa restrictions on 65 individuals and revoking 26 visas of family members and associates of persons linked to the cartel.
