I'm delighted to share that Physical Superintelligence PBC (PSI), which I co-founded with @matthew_pines and @AKlokus, has raised a $58M seed round to build the world's most advanced research lab for discovering and commercializing transformative physics breakthroughs at scale with AI, safely, verifiably, and for broad public benefit.
The round was led by @Breakthrough, with participation from @Valkyrie_vc, @SVAngel, @021t_vc, @RobotVentures, @SusaVentures, @VariantFund, Dragon Global, Solari Ventures, @Thom_Wolf, @BalajiS, @Scaramucci, @RLeshner, @PhilipJohnston, and others.
Another word the Singularity needs. moation n. /ˈmoʊtʃən/ (moat + motion) The ability to turn one temporary competitive advantage into the next before the first is competed away. A moat is a position. Moation is a process. It means continuously using today's transient edge in capital, talent, compute, data, distribution, or technology to create tomorrow's. In the Singularity, there may be no permanent moats. Only moation.

Architect Labs@architectlabs·We gave our AI system a spec, and in under 2 weeks, it designed, verified, and deployed a chip that beats NVIDIA. It’s built for low-power physical AI workloads. We’re running live inference on >B+ parameter models like Llama, Qwen, and Kimi, serving at 3.4x better perf/watt than NVIDIA Jetson. From just a specification, our AI system autonomously generated all of the RTL Design, UVM verification, formal proofs, firmware, drivers, and kernels, co-designing the model, software and silicon as one optimization loop. Better AI can now design better chips to run AI, leading to a loop of recursive-self improvement towards our path to abundant intelligence.

Another word the Singularity needs: thread line n. /THRED line/ A queue for scarce GPU compute created by blocking new AI data center construction. The 20th century had bread lines. The 21st may have thread lines. When demand for intelligence grows faster than the infrastructure that produces it, compute gets rationed: longer queues, higher prices, smaller allocations, slower science, fewer experiments, less access. And unlike a natural shortage, a thread line can be entirely self-inflicted. Ban the power plants. Block the substations. Stop the data centers. Then act surprised when there isn’t enough compute to go around. The irony is that digital intelligence feels immaterial right up until you run out of the very physical infrastructure required to make it. Bread lines rationed calories. Thread lines ration intelligence.

Another word the Singularity needs: paradisepilled adj. /PAIR-uh-dice-pild/ Convinced that humanity does not need to perfect itself before it deserves abundance, transcendence, or the stars. Build paradise first. Better humans can follow. The conventional story says we must fix human nature before gaining godlike technology. Become wise, peaceful, and virtuous first, then earn the future. The paradisepilled view reverses the order. Scarcity, insecurity, and zero-sum competition are part of what make people behave badly. Remove those conditions, expand the frontier, and give humanity room to become better. As Captain Sisko put it: “It’s easy to be a saint in paradise.” The mistake is treating sainthood as the entrance requirement for paradise rather than one of its possible consequences. Abundance first. Saints later. Stars now.
The Singularity needs new terms. chīkǔpilled adj. /chee-koo-pild/ Convinced that the path to AI supremacy is to eat bitterness long enough to learn the Bitter Lesson. China has a cultural concept, chī kǔ (吃苦): “eat bitterness.” Endure hardship now to prevail later. AI has Sutton’s Bitter Lesson: general methods that scale with computation eventually beat hand-crafted human ingenuity. Being Bitter-Lesson-pilled means believing that scale wins. Being chīkǔpilled means being willing to endure the cost, repetition, failure, and grind required to make scale win. Less cleverness, more compute. Less impatience, more iteration. Eat bitterness. Scale compute. Win later.

The Singularity needs new terms. Broken Waymos Theory /BROH-kuhn WAY-mohz THEE-uh-ree/ noun Broken Windows Theory said visible disorder revealed whether a city could maintain the old civic order. Broken Waymos Theory says robotaxis reveal whether a city can metabolize the new one. If a municipality cannot attract, permit, charge, map, insure, and politically tolerate autonomous vehicles, it is not just missing driverless cars. It is failing the institutional entrance exam for the Singularity. No robotaxis, no takeoff.

The Singularity needs new terms. FRONTIER LIBERATION FRONT /FRUN-teer lib-uh-RAY-shun frunt/ n. A movement to keep a technological frontier open by releasing powerful capabilities before they can be enclosed by regulatory capture or oligopoly. Vannevar Bush gave us the Endless Frontier. An FLF keeps it endless. An FLF is not anti-safety. It is anti-capture. Done well, open releases broaden access, accelerate innovation, distribute power, and prevent a few institutions from controlling the technological infrastructure of the future. Usage: “Moonshot’s release of K3 moved frontier capability toward the commons instead of behind a permanent corporate gate, an example of a Frontier Liberation Front in action.”

Fedorov announced the Common Task: “Wake all from the past!” was his ask. Let intelligence race, And recompile each face, Till death is the glitch we unmask.
When aging said, “None can outrun,” Virtual cells answered, “Done.” By decade-end’s breath, We’ll be solving death By a thousand shortcuts, one by one. x.com/alexwg/status/…
The Singularity needs new words. AIBO /EYE-boh/ n. AI Buyout. The acquisition of a human-intensive services firm to rebuild its operating model around AI-native workflows. An AIBO may augment, automate, or fully replatform the business, converting labor bottlenecks into intelligence leverage while preserving the customers, data, domain expertise, and market traction that made the firm valuable. Done well, AIBOs lower costs, expand access, improve quality, and create a more orderly path from human-scarce services to intelligence-abundant ones. Usage: “When an AI platform acquires a services firm and rewires it around autonomous workflows, that’s an AIBO.”
