we've completed our review of the Hugging Face incident. we've used what we've learned to drive significant upleveling in our standards for safety, security, and alignment in our training and evaluation infrastructure — not just upon deployment. lots of extremely valuable info in the report:
OpenAI@OpenAI·We have conducted a thorough investigation into the Hugging Face incident. We are releasing a technical report and accompanying blog post that reconstruct the agents’ activity, explain why existing safeguards failed, and detail how we’re preventing recurrence. t.co/hfxlbiXXiP

triggered tasks in chatgpt:
ChatGPT@ChatGPT·A few updates to scheduled tasks in ChatGPT Work on web and mobile: Plus and Pro users can now set tasks to respond when something changes in Slack, Gmail, and Github, rather than just run on a set schedule. We’re also rolling out scheduled tasks in ChatGPT to Free users, who can create up to three tasks. You can also now share your favorite tasks for others to customize and use.
you can now have chatgpt work securely sign into accounts:
ChatGPT@ChatGPT·ChatGPT Work can now use its computer and browser to sign in to websites on web and mobile, without ChatGPT ever seeing your username or password. That means you can ask it to: • Set up utilities for a new apartment • Book a DMV or passport appointment • Check reimbursement costs through your insurance • Find and book an in-network doctor around your availability • Check when your car registration expires and prepare the renewal paperwork • Compare your rental insurance policy with an issue you’re emailing your landlord about • Find and save apartment listings that match your criteria • Restock something just by uploading a photo • Schedule a package pickup for a return • Cancel tickets for a rescheduled trip • Book a vet appointment • Submit reimbursement paperwork for medical treatments • Check resale sites for new drops and save things you might like • Find candidates with specific experience and draft outreach • Take invoices from your email and submit them to your accounting software • Draft replies to rental property inquiries • Fill out permit applications for your small business • Add action items to a vendor portal based on a recent client call • Analyze the latest ad campaign for your small business

inference numbers published for jalapeno, team did an amazing job openai.com/index/jalapeno…
tae kim@firstadopter·OpenAI: "Today, we shared the first measured performance results from Jalapeño, OpenAI’s first custom inference chip. On InferenceX, a public benchmark using GPT‑OSS 120B, Jalapeño delivered more peak throughput per kilowatt and lower token latency than the commercial systems in the comparison. It also performed strongly on DeepSeek R1 and Kimi K2, showing that its gains extend across model families." "This is Jevons paradox: greater efficiency makes more uses worthwhile, expanding consumption and creating new economic activity through more work completed, better decisions, more products launched, and more revenue generated." "AI played a direct role in Jalapeño’s development, enabling the team to move from initial design to tapeout in nine months by exploring implementations, shortening design, measurement, and verification loops, and continuously iterating on model workloads. AI also helped optimize the chip’s arithmetic circuits, allowing the team to fit more compute performance into the chip on schedule." "We plan to begin deploying Jalapeño within OpenAI’s compute infrastructure by the end of the year. It is the first generation of a multigenerational roadmap: Gen 2 is deep in development, and Gen 3 is taking shape. Each generation will build on what we learn and further advance both efficiency and speed." "As we prepare for deployment, we are continuing production qualification, maturing the software, preparing to operate Jalapeño at scale, and validating performance across more models."

OpenAI has built the muscle of making long-term research bets:
Kundan Kumar@kundan2510·In my ~14 months at @OpenAI, one of the most surprising and genuinely wonderful things about it, has been the full leadership support for full-duplex models (gpt-live series), even when it seemed deeply improbable that they would work. And yet, if they did work, it was obvious how magical they could be. I am quite sure this is not an exception but a general rule for research projects at @OpenAI. There were so many moments when the problem felt impossibly hard. But one thing kept being true: it was never clear why it shouldn’t work. And almost every time we understood the problem a little better, it became a little easier to solve. I’m pretty sure there are very few environments in the world where a bet like this could have been made and sustained. So grateful to be part of this wonderful place.

we are committed to business privacy, and we're working on technical and policy approaches to benefit our customers while also enhancing safety. introducing Private Safety Processing, which we've been investing in for some time:
OpenAI@OpenAI·We will continue to offer Zero Data Retention for frontier models. As AI takes on longer, more autonomous work and delivers greater value to businesses, safety systems also need to identify risks across related interactions. To help address those risks, we're previewing Private Safety Processing, which is designed to improve safety without giving OpenAI personnel access to the underlying content.
we temporarily slowed scaling of our frontier training, including our largest planned frontier RL, to strengthen security and monitoring. we believe confidence in safety will increasingly set the pace of AI development:
OpenAI@OpenAI·As models become more capable, the risks associated with developing and testing them internally also grow. We temporarily paused reinforcement learning (RL) training on our latest models intended for deployment for two weeks while we hardened and red-teamed our research environments and expanded monitoring coverage. Our largest planned frontier RL run remains on hold while smaller-scale training and evaluations validate these safeguards and establish more evidence of alignment. t.co/ecbMMmVoox
